July 28, 2014 marks 100 years since the start of World War I. Although it was one of the most violent events in history, WWI had a moment of humanity in December of 1914. The Christmas truce was a series of unofficial ceasefires during which opposing soldiers exchanged gifts, played football games, sang carols and mingled in "no man's land."
