Why Do The Trees Bend In The Crooked Forest?

The Crooked Forest is located in western Poland. About 400 trees have the signature bends in their trunks, and they're surrounded by normal pines. Scientists believe that the bent trees were planted around 1930, and that the bends were purposefully orchestrated by humans for an unknown purpose.
