A common sight at the end of a summer barbecue, besides the slowly congealing coleslaw and and the myriad of half-empty bottles, is a few orphaned hot dog buns still sitting in the bag. It begs the eternal question: if you need one bun per hot dog, why aren't hot dogs and their buns sold in packs of equal quantities?
