The Roswell Incident occurred on a stormy July night in 1947. The lightning storm allegedly took down a flying disk that landed on a rancher's property in New Mexico. The flying disk was discovered by W.W. Mack Brazel on his ranch outside Roswell, and the wreckage was taken to the sheriff who then took it to the nearby Roswell Army Airfield. The first press release during the Roswell Incident sustained that the Roswell Army Airfield had captured a flying saucer. This story immediately picked up a lot of media attention, but three hours later, an official from the RAAF issued another statement that claimed it was not a flying disk but a weather balloon. The story of Roswell still remains a mysterious, attractive story for conspiracy theorists today.
