Here's a fun—or, more likely, terrifying—hypothetical question: What would the world look like if all its inhabitants lived together in a single city? Short answer: cramped. Very, very cramped. This might put it into perspective: If the world's population lived in a city with the population density of New Orleans, Louisiana, this single world city would be about as big as the continental United States.
