Consider this: adjusted for inflation, NASA's entire budget for the Apollo program was about $10 billion per year. Compare that to the U.S. military budget, which is a whopping $600 billion per year. Obviously, NASA and the military are two very different organizations with very different needs, but that won't stop us from wondering...what if NASA had that kind of budget?
