How would you like to buy a pass that granted you unlimited first-class air travel to anywhere in the world for life? Sounds like a good deal, right? As it turns out, it was a much better deal than the airlines even realized. American Airlines began offering the airpass in the early 1980s when they were strapped for cash. The pass cost $250,000 (about $600,000 in today's dollars). Only 66 people cashed in on this amazing offer, perhaps not even realizing the full potential of the deal.
