The island nation of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean has a unique feature: the world's first and only underwater post office. And it's not just a tourist gimmick either-this is an official drop off point, and your letter will reach your recipient just like it would from any other post office. The office in Vanuatu, which is situated within the Hideaway Island marine sanctuary, has a special procedure for indicating that a postcard has been sent. Unlike the traditional practice of marking a stamp with ink, the Vanuatu underwater office created an embossing technique.
