Getting a concussion is almost always a tragic incident. But in the case of a handful of people around the world, a brain injury has resulted in acquired savant syndrome-the acquisition of prodigious abilities following brain trauma. Jason Padgett suffered a brain injury in 2002, and has since become a mathematical genius. He claims to see everything in mathematical structures, and is one of the only people on Earth who can draw approximations of fractals by hand.
