The Meatball Is Real Meat, But No Slaughter

A company called Memphis Meats has created a real meat meatball, that didn't come at the expense of killing or harming an animal. How is this possible? The meatball, presented in January 2016, was the first-ever meatball made from lab-grown meat. The meat was created from real meat cells, although it did not require slaughtering an animal. Reportedly, the meatball cooked and sizzle like regular meat, and even tastes like an ordinary meat meatball. As of February 2016, it costs around $18,000 to produce a pound of Memphis Meats beef. Another lab claims it can get the price down to $11 per pound, but that day may be far away.
