Sue Austin uses a wheelchair to get around on land, but in 2005, she wondered if she could take it underwater, too. Naysayers told her the chair wouldn't be maneuverable beneath the waves, but Austin wasn't deterred. Her project, "Creating the Spectacle!", eventually sent her and her augmented chair drifting past fish and coral reefs. Austin hopes that her project will challenge preconceptions about the limitations imposed by disabilities, and inspire others to pursue seemingly impossible goals.
