Binary star systems—that is, two stars that orbit one another—are pretty rare. Gamma-ray binary systems, which are made up of either black holes or neutron stars and radiate most of their energy in gamma rays, are even rarer. Hear about the first such system to be discovered beyond our own galaxy in the video below.
