Many Animals Names Are Actually Misnomers

Though you think you've seen a jackrabbit before, technically, you have not. It's a hare, which isn't actually a rabbit at all. The term "jackrabbit" is used to describe six different species of hares. But calling a hare a rabbit of any kind is definitely a misnomer.
