The Cancer-seeing Eyes Of The Mantis Shrimp

The Cancer-seeing Eyes Of The Mantis Shrimp

Because of their compound eyes, the bizarre mantis shrimp can actually see cancer. Where the human eye is only able to detect four different visual pigments within the visible spectrum, the mantis shrimp can detect up to 16. The mantis shrimp is much more sensitive to polarized light, and can differentiate objects by it just like humans use color. Because of this, mantis shrimp can literally see something that is cancerous.
