Here's The Puzzle

You are tasked with cutting a doughnut shape into nine separate pieces using straight lines only. The pieces can be of any size, but the cuts must be straight. What is the smallest number of cuts that will leave you with nine pieces of the doughnut? Where do you cut the doughnut to get those pieces? Scroll down to see the solution.
