Maybe you've heard of this guy from Duluth, Minnesota named Bob Dylan? The singer-songwriter, born Robert Zimmerman, has been described as the greatest living poet of his lifetime and was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature. In the words of the Swedish Academy, Dylan earned the award for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition." He has also been awarded the Pulitzer Prize (in 2008) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (in 2012). As President Obama explained while presenting him with that honor: "I remember, you know, in college, listening to Bob Dylan and my world opening up, 'cause he captured something about this country that was so vital."
