Blindsight, The Phenomenon Of "Seeing" While Blind

When someone's visual cortex is damaged, the brain may not be able to interpret signals from the eyes, resulting in blindness. However, studies have shown that some people with cortical blindness exhibit blindsight—an ability to unconsciously perceive visual stimuli. Subjects with blindsight have been observed navigating obstacles in a room, and mimicking the emotions of people they "see" on a screen through their blind eye(s).
