April showers bring May... barbecues? Spring is here and cooking is going outdoors. Fittingly so, May is National Barbecue Month in the US. The longer days and increasing warmth make spring an idyllic season to fire up the grill for a hearty meal.

Barbecue is more than fire and meat—there's a rich history behind the practice. It all began when man first created fire and found benefits of cooking with it; cooking meat over fire kills bacteria, and eating the cooked meal improves digestion. But cooking over an open flame comes with its share of hazards, especially if you confuse barbecue with grilling. This playlist will whet your appetite as you watch the BBQ best.
